The Art of Vintage Yves Saint Laurent Costume Jewellery
The Refashion Jewellery Archive
An independent editorial exhibition exploring colour, scale and ornament through our own catalogue photographs. This is a retailer’s study, with no museum or designer-house affiliation.
Jewellery as part of the silhouette
The Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris’s GOLD exhibition examined gold across clothing, accessories and jewellery. Its presentation places ornament within the wider silhouette. Loulou de La Falaise’s work on accessories is another important part of that history, documented in the museum’s biography.
Our edit considers three design themes: graphic monograms, saturated colour and playful motifs. These are visual readings of the photographed pieces. They are not claims that the objects belong to a specific collection, were designed by a named collaborator, or were worn by a celebrity.
Graphic surface

The catalogue describes hammered monogram clip-on earrings. The raised lettering makes the sign itself the ornament.

Colour and volume

The catalogue describes vintage turquoise clip-on earrings. Read the listing for its material wording and condition; the photograph alone is not a mineral identification.

The playful object

A cherry pendant turns a recognisable shape into jewellery. Its place in this exhibition is thematic, not a dated runway attribution.
