Seen on Screen: Lady Gaga’s Schiaparelli Dove Brooch

The Jewellery Archive: Seen on Screen
A brooch can be a small finishing detail. It can also become the visual centre of an outfit.
The documented appearance
Schiaparelli records that Lady Gaga wore a custom Daniel Roseberry design to perform at the US presidential inauguration on 20 January 2021. The house describes a navy cashmere jacket, a red silk-faille skirt and a gilded dove-of-peace brooch.
Reading the design
The combination invites a useful styling exercise: imagine the clothes without the brooch. The silhouette remains strong, but the focal point and symbolic message change. Jewellery here performs a role beyond sparkle. Shape communicates from a distance.
For a wardrobe rather than a stage, the lesson is not necessarily to wear an enormous object. It is to give a chosen piece room to register. A plain lapel, a simple neckline or a restrained colour field can make a smaller brooch feel deliberate.
Collecting with clear attribution
The Schiaparelli brooch illustrated below is from our separate pre-owned catalogue. We do not identify it as Lady Gaga’s dove, a screen-used object or a piece from the same collection. Shared house attribution is not proof of shared date or provenance.
Check the product’s dimensions and condition before deciding where to wear it. A heavy or delicate piece may require more consideration than a photograph suggests. Our condition checklist explains what to ask.
